“Make a Queen’s Guard Laugh”
was my daughters’ favorite game while we were traveling in London.
You know those serious faced guys outside of Buckingham Palace who stand at attention all day in their tall and furry helmets. While making them laugh is not a new game, I’m sure cheeky tourists have been at it for decades, it continues to be fun for the whole family.
My daughters and their friends recommend:
5. Tell him a joke.
4. Sing a funny song.
3. Make arm-pit fart noises.
2. Pick your nose and eat it.
And the #1 way to get a Queen’s Guard to laugh:
Pick your nose and offer it to him.
This game also works well in Rome with the Swiss guards. And for hours of fun, they can re-enact it in hotel bathrooms around the world. One kid is the guard; the other must make him laugh.
While I’m not necessarily proud of the little nose-pickers, they do get points for creativity.
