I had heard about this city-wide street festival with its towering sculptures that were burned on the last night, but I was in no way prepared for the pageantry and processions, the afternoon mascleta and brilliant La Nit del Foc fireworks at 2:00am.

You can image our excitement then when we found ourselves in London during the annual Trooping the Colour. This impressive parade and London event is held on Queen Elizabeth’s official birthday. What an unexpected surprise it was to see the Queen, Prince William and over 1,400 horse guards in this wonderful London event.
